We’re confused. Demi Lovato wore a pair of $495 flannel shorts that have left us seriously concerned about the world of fashion during a performance in Miami, Fla., on Thursday, July 2.
The shorts in question are R13’s “Vedder” shorts, and according to Shopbop — where they’re now on sale for $247.50 — they “offer a playful nod to grunge style with a long, slouchy rise and an attached shirt tied around the waist. 4 standard pockets, 2 carpenter pockets, and a hammer-loop lend a utilitarian feel.”
The “single-button closure and zip fly” leave us even more confused, given that the shorts have the “attached” flannel tied around them. Does the flannel come off? Or is this all one piece?

Vedder, of course, is a nod to Pearl Jam’s grunge rocker Eddie Vedder.
Lovato, who has been busy promoting her new single “Cool for the Summer,” paired the “shorts” with an ‘80s one piece bikini and pink lucite heels.
Prior to sporting the SMH outfit, Lovato opted for a bondage-style bra top, thigh-high netted boots, and jean shorts while hosting a Z100 pool party in NYC on Wednesday, July 1.
And with that, we give you world’s most confusing and unnecessary fashion hybrid.
