Paging Saturday Night Live: 10 Celebs Who Should Host in Season 41

Miley Cyrus, Amy Schumer, and Tracy Morgan have already been announced as the first few hosts of Saturday Night Live Season 21, and there are a few more famous faces who would be great hosting the late-night comedy institution.

To start? SNL alums Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, who should team up to promote their upcoming movie, Sisters. Meryl Streep — who has never hosted before — needs to take a turn in Studio 8H, because obviously. And welcoming Taylor Swift back to the stage would be a great way for her to squash any remaining bad blood and another chance to for her to bring out some of her famous friends.

Those four women, plus a few more celebrities who should host Saturday Night Live this season:

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler

The cast vets have their latest film collaboration, Sisters, coming out in December. Both have hosted Saturday Night Live countless times — separately. They’ve appeared together on Weekend Update over the years since leaving the comedy institution, but they’ve never hosted the show together. It would be a dream to see both Tina and Amy host SNL together this year and we’re putting it out there, The Secret-style.

Taylor Swift hosted Saturday Night Live back in 2009. She surprised viewers and critics by delivering a solid episode and a great Kristen Stewart impression in a Twilight spoof called “Firelight.” Now that years have passed and Swifty has become a megastar, it’s time for her return. There’s plenty of material at the ready, too, from her Twitter war with Nicki Minaj to all those surprise guests at her concerts.

Harrison Ford

Sure, Harrison Ford may not be the first name to come to your mind when you think comedy. And, sure, he’s never hosted the show before or even made an appearance. But while this one may be a reach, Ford will be promoting Star Wars: The Force Awakens later this year and it would be nice to see the 73-year-old have some fun. Princess Leia costume, anyone?

Kim Kardashian

Wait, hear us out on this one. First, a Kardashian appearance would be a ratings bonanza for the show. While, like Ford, Kim Kardashian isn’t necessarily a comedian, she’s no stranger to the format. She’s guest-starred on countless sitcoms, even appearing in one of 30 Rock’s live episodes! Plus, the possibility of a Kanye West cameo is too much to imagine.

Seth Meyers

Seth Meyers hasn’t hosted SNL — yet.

Since leaving SNL in early 2014, Seth Meyers has, of course, gone on to be the host of Late Night With Seth Meyers. Following in the footsteps of fellow SNL alum and late-night network-mate Jimmy Fallon, Meyers coming back to host would be interesting to watch. More known for Weekend Update and his role as head writer for several years, the sometime actor didn’t do a lot of character work but was frequently the straight man in the sketches he did appear in. Plus, with the current political climate, he will surely have some fun with someone like Donald Trump.

Anne Hathaway

Anne Hathaway is a friend of the show and a favorite host of the last few years. Turning out impressions of everyone from Claire Danes to Katie Holmes, she always does a solid job. Hathaway is starring in Nancy Meyers’ The Intern this fall, opposite Robert DeNiro, so she’d have a legit excuse to host again. An impression she should definitely tackle: Amy Schumer (getting back at her for that joke in Trainwreck).

Ronda Rousey

Few have had a year quite as successful as Rousey’s. Appearing in both Entourage and Furious 7, the professional fighter is currently making a name for herself on the big screen. The UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is knocking out opponents in mere seconds and isn’t afraid to say what’s on her mind. So, as she’s dominating the big screen and the ring, it’s time for her next win: the small screen. With Rousey continuing to venture into acting, hosting Saturday Night Live seems like a natural progression. Every season features one or two athletes as hosts and Rousey would be an excellent pick.

Meryl Streep

In all of her success and accolades, The Streepster has never — ever! — hosted Saturday Night Live. She’s never even made an appearance! Now, Streep is no stranger to comedy, of course, so she would be an exceptional host. Who else wears prosthetics and wigs like Meryl Streep? No one else! Lorne, make this happen.

Matt Damon

The highly anticipated The Martian is coming this month, which means a lot of Matt Damon on your TV screens and magazine covers. (Not complaining!) Damon hosted in 2002 and has appeared on the show several times since. The Boston actor could return to the stage and even bring along his good friend Ben Affleck to poke some fun at himself in a time when he needs it most.

SNL returns Oct. 3 with host Cyrus, followed by Schumer and Morgan in the subsequent weeks.
