President Obama Shuts Down White House Heckler: "You're In My House!"

Oh snap. President Barack Obama shut down a heckler during a reception celebrating LGBT Pride Month at the White House on Wednesday, June 24. During his speech, the protester repeatedly shouted the president’s name, prompting him to pause and say: “No, no, no, no. Listen, you’re in my house.”

Before the attendee, who The Hill has identified as Jennicet Gutierrez, was escorted out of the room, Obama added: “You’re not going to get a good response from me by interrupting me like this…Shame on you, you shouldn’t be doing this.”

Gutierrez, who is reportedly part of the Not One More Campaign, which opposes the administration’s deportation policies, could be heard shouting things such as “stop all deportations” and “not one more” as she was removed.

“As a general rule, I am just fine with a few hecklers,” Obama then told the rest of the crowd, who applauded his reaction. “But not when I am up in the house. My attitude is if you’re eating the hors d’oeuvres, you know what I’m saying? And drinking the booze? I know that’s right.”
